hope

As the sun rose over the horizon, Kaede trekked through the leaves and trunks of trees. It's been four days in the jungles and he should be out anytime now. As he climbed down a tree, he finally spots an opening out into an open field. A few more miles of walking through that field should bring him to the historical grand mansion.

His eyes glistened with joy when he finally arrives. It still held it's old glory as legend has once told. Although the grass is unkempt and weed has overgrown, the vines look as though they were meant to be there. He walked through the courtyard and took in the sight of the intricately carved and built bridges.

After the bridge, was the mansion with it's wide and welcoming guest room. Rows and rows of bookshelves and redstone lights lit the room. He trudged up the stairs with excitement as Kaede wanders the mansion. 'How did a faction this grand, fall to its demise all of a sudden, and disband without a trace?'

He caught sight of five pillars of different diamonds, Azure, Emerald, Topaz, Gold and Ruby. The rest of the pillars were old dusty, some even had cracks. But the Ruby one still shines bright underneath all the overgrown vines.

Kaede felt a glimmer of joy and hope. 'There's a chance for the Sanctuary to revive!' Many versions of the legends speak of the Five Pillars, and no one has ever dared to trek across the vacant territory for fear of provoking the Truhans that wander there. Truhans are what the Rivierans call, rogues. Those who belong to a faction that wander, or those who do not.

The Five Pillars were what once supported the Sanctuary. Azure was the barrier that kept the Sanctuary safe, whereas Emerald defended the area surrounding and within. Topaz warms the hearth and kept the outsiders at bay, whilst Gold stood the ground and kept the Sanctuary sturdy. Ruby kept them all together and lights up the Sanctuary whilst supporting everyone else. Together, these were the elements that once protected the Sanctuary and all in within.

But something devastating happened. All that Kaede knows now that the Ruby pillar was still lit, meaning that the Ruby Guardian was still alive, and very much still protecting the place. Now all he has to do is find where the guardian resides now.

With new found hopes, he began rummaging through every nook and cranny of the mansion, hoping to find something, anything that could help him begin his search. Until nightfall arrived, he still found nothing.

He sat down in the guest room in despair. Not even the hidden room under the mansion held anything of importance. His eyes caught a sudden glimmer in the bushes outside.. It was the reflection of something smooth. He quickly grabbed his pack and ran outside, careful not the provoke any Eders, he crept through the grass. He found a switch, a hidden button, as soon as he flicked it, a resounding click rang and light glistened through the grass behind the tree.

It was the doorway to another underground base. He quickly climbed in, not before closing the opening with some twigs and dried leaves to not attract any Eders creeping around the place. He climbed down the ladder and admired the place. It was like time never affected this place. Each and every individual built in red stone light was still functioning and water flowed as per usual.

Kaede was more than amazed, he began his exploration.
